Op maandag 12 juni word je ondergedompeld in de boeiende persoonlijke projecten van fotografen van bij ons en uit andere delen van Europa. Ontdek waarom deze persoonlijke projecten belangrijk zijn. Wat het hen bijbracht als fotograaf en persoon en hoe ze dit hebben aangepakt. Bovendien brengt dit soms nog onverwachte opportuniteiten en kan je in je passieproject soms meer kwijt dan in andere jobs. |

"Personal projects have always been an important part in my photographic journey and without it my business, and in many ways my life, wouldn´t look the same as it does today." Therese Asplund is an internationally rewarded fineart portrait photographer from Sweden. Her creative portraits varies from being romantic and painterly, in dusty soft colors, to being a flirt with the fashion/commercial world with it´s unconventional styling, bright colors and sometimes almost graphic looks. Her passion has always been lighting and a lot of effort is always put into getting a light that adds character and brings out the best in the location and her models. With also having a big passion for styling, hair and make up, she creates most of the styling for her portraits herself as a part of the creative process. Hear her speak about how doing personal projects can help you to always keep growing and learning new things and how it also gives you the opportunity to lead your business in a direction to where you get to do more of the type of photography you really love. |

A Parallell World by Ivan Caniga

Ivan Caniga is a Slovak professional Art photographer. He dedicated his life to photography and with years of practise and experience his work was recognized even on international scene. He is the holder of the prestigious MQEP Certificate (Master Qualified European Photographer) and also received QEP Certificates (Qualified European Professional Photographer) in Illustrative and Portrait photography awarded by FEP (Federation of European professional photographers). Ivan completed dozens of individual and collective exhibitions in Slovakia and in San Crispino Italia, Paris France, Edinburg Scotland, Canterbury Brussels Belgium, Moscow Russia, Antwerpen Belgium, Washington USA, Prague and Ostrava Czech Republic, Warsaw Poland and Budapest Hungary, from which he have won several remarkable prices. He will introduce us to his project called the „Parallel World“. The “Parallel World” is unique in Slovak and European photographic work. This collection of photos was created using combination of different lights with glass objects of various shapes and other interesting materials, which he modifies differently to try to achieve the illusion of the real world. The play of light and colour breathes life into photographs that create images reminiscent of world-famous metropolis, natural scenery, or cult historical places on Earth. The creation of each photograph is preceded by time-intensive preparation, making each photo unrepeatable and unique. |
Fotografe Raïs De Weirdt fotografeert het leven in Oekraïne tijdens hulpmissie

Fotografe Raïs (27) besloot om van haar geplande duikreis in Azië iets geheel anders te maken. In plaats van zwemmen in azuurblauwe zee en onder een palmboom cocktails te drinken, trok ze samen met haar vriend, Tim, richting Oekraïne. Ze verzamelden kledij, voedingswaren en medicijnen, kochten een camper, vulden deze tot de nok met hulpgoederen en reden naar West-Oekraïne om te kijken hoe ze konden helpen. Uiteindelijk bleven ze daar bijna een maand lang om vrijwilligerswerk te doen. Tijdens haar verblijf daar nam ze pakkende foto’s die het verhaal vertellen: geen bomaanslagen in Kiev, maar wel hoe het leven in West-Oekraïne eruit ziet voor de vluchtelingen. Christian Clauwers onderzoekt via zijn fotografie het spanningsveld tussen mens en natuur

Met een focus op wetenschap en klimaat en brengt hij de kwetsbaarheid en het wetenschappelijk onderzoek van de oceanen en poolgebieden in beeld voor een breed publiek. Zijn missie is om te sensibiliseren en om de kloof tussen wetenschap en beleid te verkleinen door middel van beeld. Tijdens de klimaattops van de United Nations, COP25 en COP26, presenteerde hij zijn werk als officieel afgevaardigde van België. Op COP27 was hij delegatiehoofd van het World Ocean Network, een internationale vereniging die zich inzet om het publiek bewust te maken van het belang van de oceaan. Momenteel werkt hij samen met de Belgische, Franse, Zweedse, Noorse en Italiaanse overheden aan verscheidene projecten, allemaal in de context van het documenteren van (klimaat)impact en het sensibiliseren door middel van fotografie en lezingen.
